Which Engine/Model is the most reliable?
I bought a brand new early 2000 A6 2.7T. At four years and 85,000 miles the right turbo seal blew. I was unemployed and they wanted $7,500 to replace both turbos so I sold it for $3,000. Didn't know about EBay at that time.
I'm retired now and have an itch to get an early 2000's Audi Quattro. I lean toward suicidal actions. Which of the Audi engines from the early 2000's has been the most bullet proof and least expensive to fix?
Thanks,
Jack

I'm currently driving a 99 A6 2.8q approaching 230,000 miles. When talking Audi and reliability my opinion is you have to stay normally aspirated. My 98 A4 1.8 spit a turbo at 90k. You just need to decide what level of performance you want... 2.8 N.A. = Slooow
Even though the 2.8 isn't terrible - you'll still have plenty to do... coolant temp sensor, PCV system, oil leaks (cam seals after the PCV system gets pluged from condensation and it gets cold then blows them, valve cover gaskets, water leaks into the car from sunroof or other plugged drains, differential seals, ABS module repair, and missing pixels in dash) and then you still can do control arms.
OK, I didn't mean for that to sound too neg.. but at least you know what you are getting into. I'll equate driving an Audi to dating a hot chick. When its good it's great.. when its not it's going to be a PITA. (More expensive too )

I would like to find a dating site for car fans, do you know such? I am fond of restoring old cars and I would like my girl to share my hobby. I am looking at the site https://mylistcrawler.com/listcrawler-detroit . I will create a profile there, and maybe I will specify there that I am looking for a girl with a same hobby. The world is big, so I think there is a chance to find me second half.
