Default Excessive brake dust??

Hey guys,

How long does it usually take for brake dust to accummulate on your wheels? Mine seem to be black and almost greasy after one week!!! I have the 7x16 swing wheels, which are the factory alloys on the 98.5 A4 1.8T QTR.

Any suggestions on how to reduce this brake dust build up? I use an eagle one wheel cleaner which gets it off easy but its tedious to be doing that every week. Any better products?

thnx

buy new brake pads. ebc green stuff is great takes a while tobuild up brake dust. mine dont seem to get bad until about 3-4 weeks. so they have very little dust. you can find them on tire rack for about $100 a set

Mintex Redbox are good too - cheaper than ebc. That what I run and I dont see dust forabout 2weeks(depends on the weather too).

I wash my car nearly every week anyway during the summer, so brake dust doesnt have a chance to bother me.

By the way - I would stop using that Eagle One cleaner if its the corrosive kind that smells harsh. It will take off the clearcoat on your wheels after repeated use. My stock 15" wheels got pasty looking after using it for one summer. The Meguiars Wheel cleaner is the same type of stuff, but far less corrosive and does the job just as well..
