Default Exhaust DIY

Hello everyone,
I was looking to do some mods to my exhaust.
Any mods that i can do without straight-piping or aftermarket exhausts?
I dont like how loud straight piping is and i dont want to spend alot of money for an aftermarket exhaust. Just looking for some little tweaks to put a little more rumble in my engine.. thanks!

You can change out the resonator for an aftermarket one (Vibrant 12" for example), the muffler for an aftermarket one (Magnaflow 14816 is popular - love mine), or both. The resonator will make more difference in deepening the tone.

I was looking at thrush glass packs, it's installed on the very back muffler right? The one that goes straight to the exhaust?

Any walkthroughs anywhere on how to install a thrush glass pack? Or should I just go and take it to a shop to do it

Glass packs are usually raspy sounding. The resonator upgrade I mentioned replaces the resonator that's between the cats and the muffler - requires cutting and welding. If you scroll through the Sights and Sounds subforum, you'll find a post I made with two videos of my setup, one with mild revs in the driveway and one heading up an onramp. Those will show you the sound the Vibrant/Magnaflow made on my car.

I watched the videos it sounds awesome, definitely starting with the vibrant resonator.. If I just bring the resonator to a muffler shop and ask them to install it will they just know exactly what to do? Cause in regards to getting it put in I have no idea what to do

Take it to them and put the car in the air. Ahead of the muffler is a huge suitcase-style resonator. They'll remove that and put the Vibrant in. I would do the 14816 at the same time though. The stock muffler piping enters at the corner of the muffler. On the Magnaflow it comes in straight. Piping that they make to fit the Vibrant to a stock muffler will have to be remade when you swap to the Magnaflow. Cheaper and easier just to do it at once.

Well in regards to loudness and sound. I wanted to know how installing JUST the resonator would sound, or vice versa, JUST the muffler.. I'm completely open to any combination, especially both.. Just wants to explore my options
