Default Flat battery causing fuel gauge to stop working

Can anyone please help. My Audi A4 1.9TDI (2002) was stood for only 4 days and the battery went flat. I recharged it and it started OK but now my fuel gauge is reading zero and the fuel warning light is on even though I have half a tank. The date and time has also reset to 2001. Is there something I can do to fix this or will it have to be an Audi garage job?

Wow. Exact problem that I have. I jumped my Audi A4 1.8T this morning and my fuel gauge is not working. Did you ever figure out what went bad?

Well, the time does that whenever my battery gets low, and my fuel gauge did that after a 3 week stint in the Audi Stealership (I can't say this enough, AVOID KINNEY MOTORS IN VERMONT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!). It came back after time. Like, 2 weeks. A couple of empty/refill cycles will do it. I drove 250-300 miles and filled it twice, first time I got nothing, second time worked like a charm.

Hasn't done it since, and that battery has been nothing but issues, I just got a new battery the other day. Holy crap was that a pain to swap. Oh well though, she's working now, and its an Interstate battery.
