I have a 2011 Audi A4 Premium Plus with 82000 miles on it. I started getting a key symbol on the dash. It says Ignition Lock Defective. The car starts and stops just fine and I tried the spare key and I get the same message. I saw a post that says to clean the key and receptacle in the dash where it goes. I have done that and the message persists. Like I mentioned before the vehicle functions like normal and the keys work just fine. The car starts and stops and the door locks and trunk release work like they are supposed to. The only issue so far is the warning on the dash. I would hate for my wife to be out and suddenly not be able to start her car. Should I be worried?
