My 2000 A6, 2.8 L, non turbo has the fading information screen problem. Question: will a 2000 A4 cluster work, they look the same. I have read the post on replacing the cluster and gave it a try on the weekend. The unit comes about 1/2 way (angling to the left) any other tips or tools that might assist in the removal.
Any places that supply a rebuilt unit that any one knows of would be appreciated.

The wiring is probably keeping it from going any further. You have to disconnect the wires to get the cluster out.
