well easy was is to disconnect the battery but depending on ur car that may or may not put ur radio in safe mode and then you will need a code for that but if you have disconnected it before and it was fine then do that again, uhm other solutions is a vag-com and i think there is a way to hold down the reset button on the winshield wiper stick and left button by ur speedometer

Not sure on A4, but for A6 the SRI (service reminder interval) can be reset with VAG-Com tool, or using the buttons on the instrument cluster.
On an '00 - '02 A6, as per Bentley :
1. press and hold down the odometer reset button
2. turn on ignition while holding the button in, OIL appears in display
3. release trip odo button, pull clock reset button out until " --- " appears in display
4. press trip odo reset button in again, for next service event, release trip odo reset button
5. " INSP" appears in display
6. pull clock reset button until "INSP" is reset and " ---" appears in display
7. turn ignition off.. done

Or refer to your owner's manual
