Default Memory Switch & Remote

Car details 97 A6 Quattro

I bought this used and everything seems to work fine. The power mirrors/seats work in every direction but for some reason the memory switch does not. I have tried setting it according to the manual, but it does not store it. On the other hand the remote has the old owners info stored, so everytime I lock/unlock the car the mirrors move from my previous manual setting, to his setting. I have tried storing mycurrent setup of seat/mirrors into the remote but it will not store it. Do I have a bad memory switch ? Bad fuse somewhere that controls the switch ?

Thanks

Your either not doing it correctly or the memory switch is bad. Also try looking at the sub harness inside the door which i have seen corrosion on the connectors before causing high resistance.

Do I need to remove the door panel to get to the sub harness ?
