Are you sure the replacement is the switch, or the whole panel?

If it's the whole panel ( it should be) then just remove the whole panel, unhook the wires & replace.

Default RE: Need Help With Switch Replacement

I got a response on the Bentley site (from the book guy) saying that the whole console comes off and the switch is removed after tabs(?) are released . He said its on page 91-11. I ordered the book but will have to wait a while to see what he was talking about because I got "super-saver" shipping.

The Audi parts and service dept ordered just the switch so I guess its just the switch.

I figured this out, wasn't too tough after all. I just pulled up on the broken switch and it came out. Then found a plastic snap lock on plug to release switch from cable and pulled it off. Then snapped on new switch and snapped it back into console.tadah
