i have a 2000 a4 2.8 L
fyi dont know much at about cars
there are a few problems with my car, the one im attempting to fix is a severed hose going directly to the front of the bloc, its a thin braided hose thats maluable leading to the bottom right of the car if ur facing the engine. as far as i know there is no liquid leaking just air blowing. does anyone know what this hose is and if i can replace it my self? thanks in advance

Can you post a picture of it? That'll help a lot.

 

That hose goes to the secondary air pump.Connects to pipe that feeds the combi valves.

Not the SAP - that's on the bottom left if facing the engine like the OP said.
