I have a similar problem, most buttons on driver door don't work (locks, side mirrors) but, my power windows all work, yet the passenger door doesn't lock with neither remote nor buttons on doors. any ideas?

Hi Guys
In my case years ago, it was faulty wiring inside the door, NOT the main harness through the door to the car body and engine compartment.
VW opted for the main harness and quoted a few Hundred $'s.
A car mechanic specializing in electric windows repair, fixed the intenal door harness for a few Tens of $'s.
