Default Noisy sway bar, links or bushings (A6)

Hi everyone,
my 2000 A6 Avant has noisy front suspension- left side. It's kind of squeaky noise when going over bumps mainly. Very prominent.
It took a dealer a day and half to figure out (they were using even some kind of electonic ear) that it probably is worn bushings and sway bar links.
My question: is this likely? Dealer recommended replacement of bushings, links and even the sway bar and quoted me at $640 (2 hours of work and about $400 for links, bar and bushings).

I am thinking to do the job myself. At least the links and probably also bushing for sway bar. I am quite handy with tools, but would be my first major job on the car. Is it easy this repair?

Also should I also put there some firmer sway bar? What brand is good?

Many thanks for any hints...

Yes they replaced both lower front control arms. They said it had some play. After this I was hoping it will stop but not a bit.

Well if you took it in there to have the squeek stopped, shouln't they be responsible for fixing the problem???

Well yes.... but they told me it will cost $640. BAsically now only charged me $110 (an hour of work) for diagnosis of the problem. I did not mind paying as it took them aparently 1.5 day to figure it out.
But then they gave me this estimate a list of things they need replace. I think those are unnecessary to raplace and that's what I am asking here about. If the squeak could possibly be fixed just by replacing the bushings or bushings and sway bar links?

So they offered fixing but for this unreasonable money....
