Default OEM cassette cd player climate control (new owner)

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I recently purchased my first ever European car which is the 98 a6...

My question is...
I have a cassette player on my 98 a6, and I recently purchased the symphony cd cassette oem combo for a6 on ebay, and it seems a bit big...
I would also like to change my climate control on my car since the combo player is a bit big that way both will fit on the console...

Now, are the plugs on the climate control and cassette fit on the new stuff that I bought? which is the 99 and up model symphony cd and the new climate control (both are from 99 and 03 a6).

Basically I'm upgrading the console player and climate control for my 98, does anyone know if this is plug and play? Or I have to do some mods..

Any help pls...
Thanks much

The newer symphony head unit is bigger than the ones that came in 98 & 99. You probably have a swing down door over your unit which hides the radio and looks great. That door is the missing room as the newer cars with the newer units dont have that door due to the bigger radio. The climate control and seat heaters are the same on both models up to 06. Good Luck!
