Hi I'm in the market for a used car thats just going to be my daily driver and commuter. I heard some friends mention something about a bad Audi model in the past that I should stay away from because it had shifting problems, something to do with reverse??? I'm not sure the model and either were they. Anyway, I'm looking at a 1991 Audi 90 4 door sedan 2.3lt with 105,035 miles priced at $1800. It appears to be in fairly good condition (based on looks on the exterior and interior). The seller claims that there are no known problems with it. I know I'm a new user here so hopefully this is posted in the right section, but I'm curious to hear what you guys have to say about the model and price and everything. Thanks in advance.

If I recall, the issue with the car shifting into and out of reverse was a problem in the eighties. Audi suffered with that reputation long after the issue was resolved.

Your choice is good. The price is very subjective because the car is over ten years old, but I think it's fair - having not seen or test dirven the car.

Check the control arms and timing belt - they should be priority one on your list.
