Exclamation Possible Transmission Problems- Please help!

I have a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro and I'm experiencing what seems to be a burned clutch but I'm not sure.

I was driving in traffic on the highway and I shifted to 2nd gear then all of a sudden my EPS engaged and jerked my car around then my check engine light went on. I kept driving and noticed that my tachometer was spazzing out with a significant loss in performance. Also for some reason my cruise control wouldn't work immediately after but it began working after a day.

I'm taking it to autozone today to hook it up to a computer to see why the check engine light is on.

I guess my question is, if my clutch is starting to crap out will my check engine light turn on? What else could it be?

I'm not very experienced so I apologize for my description(or lack there of)

If the clutch is on its way out, you'll hit the has and see the revs climb with no corresponding increase in road speed. Your issue sounds like an electrical problem. post up the codes when you have them and let's see what's going on.

Took it to autozone and the CKP sensor is faulty, I called the dealership and the sensor is $150; however, my car is running fine now and the check engine light is off. Not sure if this is an act of God or Autozone reset my computer... Should I replace the sensor anyway?
