2003 A4 with Symphony 2radio. Spilled water on the radio, after drying out it powers on, but doesn't produce any sound. The 10 amp fuse on the back is ok, and the fuse in the fusebox is ok also.

Would a fried amp kill the sound to all of the speakers? How do I test the amp?

Appreciate the help. Audi said the radio has to be replaced, but I suspect that was a 30 second diagnosis.

 

That's funny you mentioned this. I am working on a friends 2003 A4 an replaced the radio with a used one as the cup holder above the electronics had coffee that spilled on the electronics. I replaced the radio (used) with the correct code, SAFE was lit on the radio and entered the code....radio functions tuner, etc. but no sound....good fuse on radio and side panel..have no idea what the issue is. The climate control I replaced works excellent.
