Audi 2001 a4 Quattro Automatic, Triptronic

All the gears in drive works fine but in reverse it will jerk and then goes slow and then jerks again, sometimes i will put in it in neutral back to reverse just to get me that jerk to reverse a bit more.

I bought it from the auction I don't know the fluid level in the tranny but i will get it checked out.

Any ideas or advice to know what the problem is or do you think you know what it is. thanks!

 

Get that fluid checked. Unfortunately there is no dipstick so the fluid level has to be checked with the up on a rack (level) and running. The fluid must be up to the top of the fill port on the pan. I recommend doing a fluid and filter change just to make sure. Please use a shop that is familiar with Audi/VW cars though.

However, having said that, having issues with reverse is one of the signs that there could be something mechanically wrong with the trans.....
