Scanner will not detect

Default Scanner will not detect
I have an 2001 an Audi TT roadster, the check engine light is on but the scanner will not detect anything. I have tried 2 different scanners but still do not detect anything. I checked all the fuses as well. Any suggestions?

Have you tried to do a reset to see if the codes will come back.

Yes, I have tried few times, I even unplugged the battery for 10 min and plugged it back.
