It was a piece of metal from the rotor. The holes are clogged (drilled rotors), and there is a metal smear form over some of them. I'm in vermont, should i make sure to keep these holes clean?

I wouldnt even bother. They just get clogged up again. Just use it as a lesson. Dont use drilled rotors on a street driven vehicle. They may look "cool" but they really arent designed to function on the street. The performance benifits are also minimal on the street. Theyre really for repeated max breaking found on road courses.
