This is my second cabriolet and learned how to manually reset the hard way. I kept putting real estate signs in the trunk on the first one I owned. Anyway, top stalled a few days ago and limped close with no juice. I realized the part you lock the tool in to has been stripped so can’t complete the manual reset or lock the front down. Dealer wants $1600 to replace all switches and motors and says I have to buy the entire assembly to replace that one part at $1200.
Is there a way to buy and replace the stripped part? If so what’s the part name and any DIY info would be great!
FYI my top has been working perfectly until this last time when my finger slipped off the switch and accidentally pressed the all window button with my elbow before I got the top closed again. I feel like I confused it.
