Default Is some drivetrain movement/slop normal in A4?

Hi guys, I have a 1999 1.8t, 5-speed, Quattro.

Ever since I bought the car (15k ago) it's had this slop in the drivetrain that has been driving me nuts. There is some type of clunky movement in the drivetrain when going on/off the accellerator. Pretty much ruins driving the car for me, especially through the twisties. It seems much less noticable when i first drive the car on a very cold day, but it's sloppy again by the time it warms up.

Clutch is good and all gears shift smoothly. Is this a normal feeling with a 100% stock setup on this car?

nsub mount would be my guess, i had one that was one its way out and made it feel like the clutch would slip even though it wouldnt. i replaced it with 034 motorsport mount and it feel ssoo much better. although i would recommend the APR moutn since it fills the whole bracket.

Yep, most likely worn mounts. Like SAudi said, check out an aftermarket snub mount and see if that helps you out.

greedspeed and 034 make the same snub but greedspeed never sent me mine and just refunded after i sent a nastly leter i had got mine from 034 in about a week, for the 034 id get the new bracket too since i noticed that the 034 snub is a bit smaller than the stock one but is harder material, i didnt get the new bracekt and just made the old bracket as close to the snub as possible, with and APR you may have to grind a bit off the snub but it fits in there nice and tight.

Ordered the GS snub.... hmmmm i sure hope they send it. Hadn't read that before I ordered! couldn't beat 12.95. So upgrading the snub is really worth it, eh?

theyll probably send it, i dont know why they F-ed up my shipment, although i would highly suggest the APR unit because its more snug, but if you pull the stock bracket all the way down to were the top of the snub is touching the bracket it should give a nice and more powerful feel since the engine wont be hoping around the engine bay.
