Lately my 2003 A4 quattro 1.8T does not always start on the first try - it kind of immediately stalls. Tonight it took 3 tries to start.
The dealer blew me off and said I wasn't holding the key in the start position long enough.

Any bright ideas?

Any fault codes? I would change the CTS (coolant temp sensor) which is a usualy cause for hard starting conditions.
