I have a new A4 and yeaterday when I opened the hood I noticed a strange white waxy substance on the floor of the engine compartment. It doesnt look like any of the fluids normally found in a car and seemed to have dripped out of nowhere.

I did a quick search and came up with nothing. This morning when I opened it again to wipe it away it seemed to have solidified. I have no idea what it could be lol. The only theory I have is that it may be some liquid wax that dried from a carwash I just took it through but then again how could that have gotten under the hood.

I would take a picture but its hard to get a clear shot cuz its all the way at the bottom of the engine bay. Anyone have any ideas?
