Default Timing Problems

We have had a strange but true one going on. first off my niece actually snapped a rod and sent it through the block at 70 rounds. We managed to get a small block and have enjoyed every minute of this motor rebuild/ swap[:@]. We got to the part of the timing belt and followed every step to the letter.
With the intake off and tape covering the holes we spun the motor to check belt alignment and to make sure the valves were doing the right thing. the tape sucked down great on all 6 cylinders but then did something strange... it blew back pressure also. We have checked and double checled and right now are at loss. [&:]WHY WOULD THIS HAPPEN AND HOW DO WE FIX IT>>>>>>>>

Default RE: Timing Problems

How about telling us what engine you are talking about?
READ the sticky at the top of the forum.

I'm not really following what you did.

There should be timing marks on the crank shaft, & use the cam lock bar to set the cams.
