hey guys, I thought I had posted this before, but never found out the answer and can't find the posting now. So I have a 1998 A4 2.8 (V6). I bought it and did not check the transmission for accessory problems like the manual override (+) & (-) to the right of the D (drive) setting. The (+) or "upshift" function doesn't work at any RPM, the (-) or "downshift" works perfectly. While I'm in drive the tranny upshifts just fine, even adjusts itself to my driving style at the time (more power for aggressive driving, ect.) So, I was wondering if you thought it was the transmission or just an electrical switch in the gear selector that needs to be replaced. I claim no knowledge of how the tiptronic actually works and as such I'm at a loss as to how to fix it if I get free time and money enough to do the fix. Thanks!
