Does anyone know what causes the tiptronic to not shift? I have a 99 a4 wagon that when you put the shifter over and shift up or down nothing happens.when the car is in drive it shifts normal. any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

There is a computer controll called an ecm that tells the trans what to do. It could also lock you into one gear when in auto mode. It would report codes when hooked up to a cpu if it is not working properly. It is directly responsible for the tiptronic system.

 

your fuse might need changed
i had a battery problem one day and in turn my tiptronic stopped working and turned out it was only the fuse

 

i cant find manuel for car. do you happen to know which fuse it is. also if it is fuse box on drivers side door. or is there another fuse box? this is first audi i have owned mostly had subaru's . any help would be great thanks
