How do I add tranny fluid to a 2000 A6 2.8L Quattro with a 5 speed automatic. Thanks for the help in advance.

Neither dexron or mercron. Use audi fluid. Make sure you get the correct fluid as theres at least 7 or 8 between audi and vw. The fill hole is on the bottom of the trans. Its an allen. Either an 8 or 10. To fill it you will need some sort of pump to push fluid up into the trans. The factory tool uses a gravity method. A reservoir is hung from the hood with a tube going down to the trans underneeth. At the end is an L shaped fitting to get fluid into the tranny. Theres also a valve to control fluid flow. You fill the trans untill fluid starts to come out the hole. This is done with the engine running and the trans temperature between 35-45 degrees celcius. 45-55 for hot climates. Youll need a scanner to obtain the temp from the tcm.
