Recently bought 2006 A3 2.0T with performance chip - 6 speed manual. Currently it has Castrol EDGE 5w-40 oil. My Audi mechanic told me going forward, Mobil 1 is only oil to use.

What is opinion of the forum? If it has Castrol synthetic EDGE oil in it, can I switch to Mobil 1 on next oil change - will it hurt to change?
