what is a test pipe (and cel issues?)
im trying to figure out what exactly is a test pipe and what issues come with having a test pipe on a car.. i got a 01 a4 recently and im trying to figure out whats going on.

a test pipe is pretty much a pipe that replaces the stock cat on the 1.8t, its straight through and has a bung hole for the post cat o2 sensor, you can get a fouler so you dont get a CEL, the CEl you get pretty much is there to tell you that the cats not doing its job, but since theres no cat the sensor read too much gas discharge. nothing to worry about in terms of preformance since the post cat is there just to monitor the cat performance.

i just went to a audi shop and they told me i had to repair the o2 sensor for the post cat even though i had a test pipe... and all that happened was that the cel was off until the third time i started it, the cel came back on while i was on the highway
