i have the resources and plan on making a custom exhaust, the only problem i have is design.. does anyone have any input on how loud it could possibly be without the mufflers and larger piping. i planned on adding a resonator but not sure how i want to do this.. any input is welcome, just nothin negative please

no mufflers would definitely not be under the street legal DB's

 

I had my rear mufflers cut off removed for a while, the exhaust was cut right after the center resonator and it was pretty loud, sounded good too. Strait pipes would be a little too much imo. I would run a strait pipe(s) from cats back to a muffler of some sort, wether you want magnaflow, remus ect...

 

do a search in the b5 section. This has been covered many times before. You won't really benefit much with a full custom design unless you're gonna run a supercharger. The best bet is to remove the resonator and add a straight pipe or add a smaller, lighter, less restrive one like I did (too much cabin drone without a res). Then get an aftermarket muffler like a remus or magnaflow.

 

id say put performance resonator and muffler and take the cats out....

 

what diameter piping for a stock engine is best?

 

ok resonator is gone. sounds good.. now does anyone know where i can find a manifold flange or template i could use to make flanges for manifolds im going to make??
