Don't laugh... Plastic Intake Manifold ???

Despite the fact that it may be of no use I admire your tinkering spirit and will throw in my 2 cents. I used to port-match all of my n/a intake manifolds as well as clean up the runners a bit. What I suggest is buying a head porting kit like this ( http://www.pitstopusa.com/detail.aspx?ID=3350 ) and using the abrasive puffs to clean up and polsih (but not too smooth) the ID of the runners. To port match just lay a new gasket over the mating face of the manifold, use machinist's bluing (or sharpie marker) to mark the area around the runner that dont quite line up witht he edge of the gasket. Just grind this away and you will have ever so slightly smoother airflow.
