Default DIY interior chrome trim?

So, since installing some chrome dashboard rings last week (see image) I've now been considering adding some further chrome trim to the interior of my B5 A4 Avant. At the moment I am thinking mostly around the edge of the gear stick (where the gaiter meets the trim) but potentially also in moderation around some of the centre console too.

Has anyone done this or similar? I've been looking at this sort of stuff (Halfords | Chrome Trim Narrow 3.5mm x 3.65m) but would adding an extra piece to the edge of the existing trim stop it from fitting back in properly?

Here's where I'd like to add the chrome trim (drawn in red)

if worse comes to worse you can always sand down the trim a bit to make it fit, i want to do the same thing tho! where did you find the trim?
