Hello,

I'm having a problem with my car when it idles. It does not happen all the time but when it does the check engine light will flash several times. The codes show misfires on the cylinders. When you give it gas the problem goes away. I had it looked at and the mechanic said found a leaking internal pressure valve for crankcase breather. Has anybody had this problem and does anybody have a part number? The car is 2005 a4 1.8 base.

First thing with idle problems is to check the condition and gap of your plugs. If it's been a good while that they've been in there, just replace them.
