Default 2004 Audi A4...unfortunately disappointed

Bought a 2004 Audi A4 with a certified warranty and 50K miles...drove it less than two months (90% of which was highway drive time with cruise control engaged) and had the clutch burn out. Love the car, but incredibly disappointed with the 2K expense with such a new car. As a car novice, I suppose I should've had someone independent of Audi check the car out prior to purchase, but I didn't and I'm not sure they would've been able to see the wear anyway. Having driven stick shift cars for fourteen years without ever having burned out a clutch, I assumed that was a difficult thing to do. Was very frustrated that they seemed to think I must've been riding the clutch the entire time I was driving.

For those buying a used Audi (or any used car for that matter), just understand that your car's health is unfortunately affected by the previous owner's driving abilities. I apologize for my first post on here being such a downer...I do love the car...love the way it handles (especially in snow)...love the way it looks...but I probably won't be coming back to purchase another one. And I certainly won't be purchasing another one from Tom Wood in Indy. Does anyone know if there are individually certified Audi mechanics or do you have to take your car to a dealership? I really hate to give them more of my money! People there are nice, but it's the principle of the thing. I did read the rules so I don't think that's a technical question...

The clutches in those can go out anywhere from 10,000-100,000. It all depends on how it is driven.
