Default A4 TDI S line intermittent starting problem

Some advice required please. Have a 56 plate A4 2.0 TDI which starts and runs perfectly apart from a small percentage of time when the glow plug light doesn't illuminate and it won't start. If you keep trying it eventually starts but you might have to wait anything between 5-30 minutes of continually retrying.
Has anyone experienced this and if so any suggestions would be appreciated.G

welcome to the forums

most of our members are from north america. not much experience/knowledge with the TDI. I would suggest you take it somewhere and have a scan performed, see if there are any codes in the computer. might point you in the right direction. I would suspect, based on your description of the problem, you have a bad sensor somewhere.
