Default About the dashboard

I want to buy a 1999.5 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. The car looks in perfect condition except it has a little dent by the 2.8 sign, and one other thing that I recognized was. Where you are supposed to have that it says press the clutch to start the engine. YOU CAN NOT READ IT. I was wondering what could be wrong and if anybody could tell me how much that would cost. He wants $9000, and it has 96000 miles on it.

Thank you guys,

price is a bit steep but really not that bad and the cluster has to be completley replaced to fix thids prob. but its a common problem..... its so common it is practically impossible to find a car theas that old with a perfect display.

Hmm the cluster isn't turned off is it? There is a button on the underside of the wiper stalk.

Thanks guys for answering me. I also think that the price is a bit high. I don't think that the instrument was shut off, because you could see that it wanted to say the first word PRESS. If you guys could tell me how much would I need to spend on that part that would be great.

Thanks
