any my big dumb question is..........Where do I plug in the Vag.com reader in the car???

congrats on the car. lots of good information to be found here in the forums. be sure to check the A6 section for when you have issues. You may also find the A8 section helpful, as the A8s share the same 4.2 in your A6.

Don't feel stupid. I work on these cars every day & still have problems finding them. It doesn't help having a spare tire around the middle.
