I blew up my 2005 A4 1.8 T engine when the oil pump went out and I was no where safe to pull over. So now the mechanic is telling me the engine is shot and I need a new one. The problem lies here is I am leasing the car but it is out of it's warranty. I was quoted a new engine from the dealer for $6000 installed. Mechanic told me that I only need to use the exisitng head from my engine because it does not come with it. The other option is replacing my engine from another A4 but it is used for $4500. Does anyone know what I need to do since the car is still under the lease?

How is this possible? I have an '03 thats still under warranty, the factory warranty.
