Default buying a used S4Avant

I'm looking to buy a used S4Avant . Any tips on what I should be looking out for other than the usual, obvious stuff.
I have not owned an Audi before so I'm not familiar with them.
Does the S4 motor have a timing belt , chain or gears and what is the interval for changing it.
Are there any areas that are trouble spots?

Welcome to AudiForums. I have a 2000 S4, according to the service manual, the timing belt should be changed a 105,000.

What year are you looking at, there are some issue with the 2000, 2001 S4's.

this may be reduntant, if you have already received my reply.
I've been looking at a couple 2001's, one with 54,000 miles, the other with 75,000 miles
