Default can't decide!

hi everyone!

i know i'm going to get the 2005 audi A4, but i can't decide between the 2.0T quattro and the 3.2 quattro.
i don't really know much about cars, so i apologize in advance if i sound stupid. heh. i know that the 3.2 is faster, but does the 2.0 have potential to be faster? also, i drive quite often to and from Los Angeles and San Francisco area, so would it just be better to get the 3.2? i just know that no matter which one i get i'll get the 4-wheel drive.

oh and i was wondering if anyone heard of any problems with the 2005 A4.

Thanks a bunch.

taffy9, I will give you my personal opinion on your question.

I had a new 2005.5 3.2 on hold for a week until I could get into the dealership to pick it up. When I got there with my wife we took it out for twenty minutes and did the usual test drive. We also took it on the freeway. So we get back to the dealer ready to buy and I just ask out of interest about the 2.0T and how that engine has been getting rave reviews. So my salesguy throws my wife and I the keys and we take off.

We were very surprised. The power difference was minimal, on both city roads and on the freeway. I was most surprised about the freeway because I obviously thought that the bigger V6 would pull easier at higher speeds, but it really didn't all that much. The V6 however is slightly smoother and obviously doesn't suffer from any turbo-lag, even though the lag on the new 2.0T is micro.

We ended up getting the 2.0T and we have no regrets. If you want to spend the extra $5K then go with the 3.2V6. But I just didn't think the extra money was worth the difference with the engine or performance. Drive them both and judge for yourself.

Good luck.
