Default Drivers door open sensor

A4 Quattro 2.5 Tdi 00 X reg.
I think the sensor on the drivers door may be faulty as the door is shown as open when it is in fact closed. I have located the sensors on the back doors ok but cannot find one on either of the front doors. Does anyone have a clue where they are located ?

hey i used to have the same problem. for me it was the ignition switch. if you put your key in the ignition does it sorta "spring" into starting position?

the front door sensors are located within the door latch.

the easiest way to tell whether door sensors are not working is by closing all the doors and seeing if the interior light goes out (if ou have it on the right setting on the switch so that when doors are open it stays on).

another thing to try is when the door is open you should see a red courtesy light on the underside of it, if you then flick the latch with a pen or your key so it shuts, you should see this red light go out (and also the interior one after a few seconds).....

JUST MAKE SURE TO PULL THE DOOR HANDLE BEFORE SHUTTING THE DOOR.

or the latch will crash into the metal rod when closing the door javascript:void(AddText(''))
