hi all,
the handles on the inside and outside of my drivers side door have slowly stopped working. and now not at all. my guess is that some wire is probably stretched too far. anyine have any suggestions?

 

Can you get the door open at all? If you can, you need to have the door open and window up in order to do any work in there. My 96 avant would sometimes not open from the inside, but always from the outside. The problem for me was the cable from the inside door handle to the door latching unit came off. try to get in there and look around, a mechinics mirror helps a lot to see in there. You might have a similar problem as me or could be the latching unit.
