Default Just bought an A8!

Hello everyone!

After watching and inspecting for 2 weeks, I went down to the salvage auction today on lunch and bought a 1999 Audi A8 quattro with the 4.2L v8. 98k miles. Interior (minus the muddy yard worker hand prints...ugh) is mint! Dual floor mats in the front....whoever owned this last really wanted to keep it clean!

It was involved in a fairly light collision, front driver side corner is a bit bashed but nothing terrible. I'm just having trouble sourcing parts =[

Bags didn't blow, and the passenger side is untouched. I lucked out! But anyway, I'm trying to find the parts to get it all fixed up, and then I'll be rolling in late 90's style!

After it's back on the road, I plan to first find some lowering springs for it. I intend to put air suspension on it, but I can't afford that just yet. Well..maybe tint comes first. that power rear visor is really neat though!

After the tint and the low, I'm going to try to find some nice looking 19"s or 20"s for it. Maybe some wheels from the newer A8, those look really nice.

Here's a few pics of what it looked like when I picked it up at the lot today:

Good luck!

The first thing that should be done is the timing belt if it has not been done yet! Yea the car will look good on the side of the road with 20's & a engine full of bent valves.

Other than the timing belt, is there any other maintenance I should check on at almost 100k? I plan on doing a complete fluid flush, but beyond that?

Thanks

It would probably be a good idea to do the coolant(which gets done with a timing belt service) , brake fluid , transmission service , engine oil & filter. This way your starting off with fresh fluids & do not have to wonder when they have been done.
Might not be a bad idea to do the air , fuel & climate filters also.
