Talking new to me 2000 A6 Quattro 2.7TT

I bit the bullet and bought an Audi....
All of the horror stories on here has me still alittle concerned but I jumped in anyways...
I hope I got enough of a good deal that I can afford to fix everything without going too much over the value.

I can tell you it is alot more fun to drive than my truck

Got new tires Saturday.. shopping for brakes (probally just Duralast ceramic for now) and rotors (321mm), and instrument cluster (bad LCD) lucked out and found a local guy who is scrapping a 2003 A6Q 2.7TT in silver no less... so I can get the driver's side fender and might not even have to paint...

Is it much of a big deal to get the instrument panel reprogramed?
From what I have read, the 2000 did not have the immobilization feature.
Considering just swapping out the LCD.. the ribbon connection look just like a laptop keyboard connection... thinking that way would not mess with the computer portion of the cluster....
thought???

pulled the airbox Saturday.. I think it must have been an original equip. filter.. the airbox actually had a sh**t load of dirt and leave ect in there.. vaccuumed it all out and put in a K&N filter.

I took it to a local mechanic and had it all checked out.. bottom line there is a list of things that need to be repaired or PM done, but the engine and tranny are strong....
Will start a build tread when I get more into it..
Thanks for all you'lls insights.
