New and need info engine mounts
Just purchased an a6 2001 with 115k miles. got a good deal at$3300. The engine mounts seem to be bad. put into gear with foot on brake and hear a clunk. there is no clunk or movement during turning, only from acceleration from a stop. Looks like snub (front) mount is easy to replace and engine mounts look like it will take all day! Do I change the snub (torque, front) mount first, then see what happens or should I do them all. Shop wants $850 to change them.

snub mount is a pretty common "wiggle" point. the other engine mounts are hydraulic. you would notice signs of them leaking if they were going bad. your symptoms don't sound like the engine mounts though. I'm thinking perhaps transmission mounts or another problem. repost your question in the A6 section (or even the A4 section) as there is more traffic there. be sure to include engine and transmission info
good luck
