im new i dont drive an audi i have a VW,its a 99 wolfsburg jetta, but at the moment tryin to sell it. I'm here to make a decision if i want an audi or another vw after i sell it. if i were to get an audi it would probably be a A4 1.8T or 2.8. and im curious, is this a whole national site? or mostly all of you people live in a certain region? and are there any other forums you guys all use? the vortex doesnt have much audi popularity i dont think.

Hey welcome to the forums. This site is predominately American and Canadian. We have a small following from the UK too. Do you plan to mod the engine? If you do then go with the 1.8t as it has the potential to outperform the 2.8.

 

i dont really want to mod the engine too much. what kinda prices do the v6 chips/exhuast run? and what kinda power could i put out with just those and a kn filter or something. i just want something that can run, play a little more than my little 2.o, but im not looking for crazy numbers.

btw i havent been here long but its a nice site. just thought i would say that, people seem nice and pretty quick respones. and there are some people in ohio!

 

The V6 chips are really a scam. They typically only give an extra 5-10hp, hardly worth it.

 

what are some good audi manufacturers? i would like to look more into the mods. still dont know about the 1.8T vs. v6. would it be easier/cheaper to gain roughly 225-230 hp from the 1.8T or the 2.8 30v? i dont know what those numbers are relative to the dyno wheel power, thats just crank number.i think rouhgly 190-195 whp? at the moment thats all that im really lookin for i think.

 

it would be much easier to attain that power from the 1.8t. The 2.8 doesn't really have many bolt on performance parts except for the $4k supercharger. check out the A4 links sticky thread in the A4 forum for a large list of links.
