newbie
Hi i'm a new member and have a a4 2007 avant se 140 estate, sorry to say i had a problem with my egr valve and had to remove it, and broke the electrical connector on the loom side, and wonder if anyone can offer some advice, as an audi emloyee said it's possible to get anew plug and remove the pin's from the damaged connector without having to splice the loom, if anyone has any idea's i'm for listening.
Many thanks

Wilkommen to the forums!
For fixing your electrical connector, my recommendation is that you try to find a new connector at a salvage yard. then it is just a matter of gently pulling the wires from the back of the broken connector and gently attaching them to the new connector (you should be able to see how the wires are connected inside the connector, some are soldered, some are crimped, some screw in)
good luck
have fun

Hi all,
just an update on my egr problem, i'm glad to say all is well, i replaced my egr, and fixed the plug i broke, the plug fix i didnt have to splice i got a terminal removal tool (£10.99) off the internet and a new plug from audi (£3.16), took the wires out individually, and put them in the new plug, the job was so easy, compared to splicing?.
I took the opportunity while i had the old egr off, and undid the plastic cover, and inside it has 3 plastic /nylon toothed wheels engaged with each other, the one that is connected to the shaft that opens to allow the exhaust gases into the inlet manifold was worn on the first 3 teeth, and wonder if anyone knows of any companies or websites that might have replacement gears for the egr valve, it would certainly prove a damn sight cheaper to repair or refurb than to replace.
Heres hoping someone out there can shed some light.
