I am the proud owner of a black 2001 Audi A4 and very excited to get into mods and making it "my car". This looks like an excellent site and i'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

First things first. From other A4's i've seen i find them very sexy with a nice window tint. I understand the legal limit in the front (at least for Iowa) is 50%. I'll probably go past that a little bit but I wanted to know what you guys thought about a good tint percentage? I prefer to have all my windows (except windshield of course) the same tint - just seems to look much cleaner to me. Is 40% a good bet? Anyway if you guys have some pics or examples that would be great. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

35% is what I have and have never had a problem with the police. i think it looks great.

 

yeah 35% looks pretty good and its deeper than 50 but not so deep where you can get into trouble. Thanks alot for the input and if anyone else has any ideas please let me know. Oh one more thing, how much did your tint cost? I'm sure it varies from shop to shop but i'm sure they are around the same range. thanks again.

I put 35% all around my 2001 A6. It works great for me & looks really dark since the interior is also black.

 

We tint at our shop, so got mine at a good price. But retails for around $160-$190 here in Denver.

well it turns out that the 2001 A4 that i test drove and planned on buying sold the next day... but i guess it worked out for the best... after figuring it out leasing a 2005 A4 Premium Package isn't a whole lot more than the 01 that i was going to buy. Plus its a new car.

Anyway i like the look of 35% and my A4 is black with black interior so it should blend together pretty well.

 

don't tint ur windows cause its a pain in te *** for backing up at night time
