Proud owner...
Hi everybody,
Just joined and wanted to express my joy to be part of the Audi people again...
10 years ago (when I still lived in Estonia - in Europe) I used to have 1993 Black Audi 100 Avant 2.8L Q (do not know the body style markings). Did some absolutely crazy stuff with the car and have a lot of great memories (one not so good - me crashing the car into the back of somebody and basically taking 3 cars to salvage with that). But still it was my baby...
Ever since I had to sell it in 1999 (I actually repaired it after the accident) I have dreamed about having another Audi - just like my old one... I have gone so many weird cars between moving to the US in 2000 (Honda - yak, I just threw up a little -, a Buick - god I hate that car -, Volvo T5, etc.) and now. After closing a sale of one of my properties back home I though I have earned a break and I should get myself an Audi... I did not want to waste too much money, so I set my sights on A6... 2002-2004... preferably 3.0L Avant or maybe... maybe 4.2L sedan... preferably black with black interior and sports package (sucker for bucket seats)... I though my demands were too high so I could not find anything reasonable...
Then out of the blue a gift dropped in my lap... Internet add for .....
wait for it.....
S6!!! Avant!!! Black!!! Black interior!!! in San Diego (being from San Jose this idiot was ready to drive to east coast if needed)...
After hassling with price 2-3 days and spending 3-4 days on figuring out my risks (long story, but who was selling it did not have title not the money to pay to get it off of financing) I was on a plane to SD...
Saw the car, tested the car, paid the money, signed bunch of papers to cover my risks, and off I was... in 2 hours flat...
WHAT A DREAM TO DRIVE... I got too frisky with it on Hwy 5 driving back... On an empty staight I though to floor it and see if the 155mph limiter works (my username refers to me driving fast all the time - I know, I am a proud sociopath)... Up to 145 it went like butter, but then I spotted a police car on the other side of the road, almost shat myself and decided not to it again... at least not w/o a spotter...
I have kept the car stock for now - plenty of kick to it... Did tint the windows - all at 20%. Now I have to upgrade the rubber and other maintenance stuff...
I can honestly say that this car (S6 in general) is in Top 10 cars (excluding all exotics and cars that cost as much as my house) list.. A strong place among RS6, E63, M5, M3, S4, etc...
Any wise word, mods, etc. are always welcome...
