Default any advice?

I recently bought a 2000 TT 1.8 and would like to make some mods to it. No idea where to begin... any suggestions would be great!

first read some posts in A4 forum, and for a begining most people do a chiping. most people satisfied with the power from the chip.

Do you know of any good places to purchase and/or install it? I live in Westchester county.

? what do you mean. chipping can be made by you.
all you have to do is remove and then instal it back in. not to hard.

I've never made any chips for any car before... Plus I'd hate to have something bad happen due to my lack of knowledge, that's another reason why I joined this forum to pick everyone's brain!

no, you dont chip your self. What you do is find good parking, remove the ECU, ship the ECU to the chiper like GIAG or similar. they ship it back and you install it back. the most common chip I know is "93 Octane"

hmm, yea. dont break it. first contact the cheaper and get all the steps and prices etc...
there are many things you can do to a car. just establish what you want in particular,
